Watch Rosie Perez's Tearful Exit Announcement on The View

Following yesterday’s announcement that Rosie Perez would no longer be serving as co-host of The View after this current season, Perez took several minutes out of Wednesday morning’s show for an emotional exit announcement.

Perez thanked her fans, the crew, her co-hosts (she specifically expressed gratitude towards Whoopi “the ‘80s weren’t fun for everybody” Goldberg and Nicole Wallace), and the Latino community. “I want to give a special thank you, to the latin community,” she said amidst cheers. “It’s a huge honor to be the first Latina on The View. What the hell took you all so long?”

Perez, who joined the show as a permanent co-host in September of 2014, will continue to appear on The View until August 6. Comedian Michelle Collins—a (genuinely) very cool lady— who has been a regular guest host on the show, will be the new permanent co-host.
