Rosie Perez Is Leaving The View, For Real This Time

Rosie Perez is saying goodbye to her wacky family at The View and leaving to dedicate her time to acting.

Perez only joined The View last September, but was already rumored to be leaving in January to focus on her Broadway show Fish in the Dark. Her then co-host Rosie O’Donnell quickly nixed those reports, only to peace out a month later.

Rosie Perez will now be on that long list of View co-hosts we barely grew to love. In an email to staff on Tuesday, the show’s executive producer Bill Wolff wrote:

“Our friend Rosie Perez has decided to leave the show at the conclusion of this season to pursue full time her love for acting. Stepping into the role of talk show host at the same time she has been starring on Broadway has been incredibly impressive. And beyond being an enormously talented performer, Rosie is a dedicated advocate who has brought passion and insight to the panel every day.”

Perez will continue expressing her half-formed theories on important topics until August 6.
