Melanie Griffith Has Filed for Divorce from Antonio Banderas

After 18 years of marriage and a couple of years of rumors about issues in their marriage, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas are getting a divorce.

TMZ reports that Griffith has filed, citing irreconcilable differences. The only really egregious part is the fact that she’s apparently “asking for child support and sole physical and joint legal custody,” despite the fact that the couple’s only daughter Stella is almost 18 years old. Griffith has also hired Laura Wasser, the famous celebrity divorce lawyer known for winning contentious, high-profile cases, like Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries, to represent her.

Griffith has been married four times to three different men and this will be the end of a second marriage for Banderas. The pair were each in relationships before they fell in love on the set of Two Much in 1995. According to Page Six, they “stepped out” at event together only yesterday.

In 2000, Griffith got Antonio’s name tattooed on her arm. In less permanent declarations of love, she will also have to change her Twitter bio.
