Bleak: Bill That Seeks to Ban Abortion After 20 Weeks Passes House

The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the bill that seeks to ban abortions after 20 weeks except in cases where the women is facing death (surprised that made it in there!), was approved today in the House 228-196, mostly along party lines.

The fact that rape and incest survivors aren't included might be because the bill comes sponsored by Republican Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, who is not a woman or doctor and therefore should shut his shit for brains face, but also believes that women hardly ever get pregnant after rape. In yet another case of facts v. GOP, he's dead wrong.

Even though the bill faces almost certain death in the Senate — and Obama has threatened to veto it — it's still scary because of all the headway anti-women's health care initiatives and bills are making in state government around the country.
