During Wendy Williams’s first show taping since news broke on Thursday that she was filing for divorce from her husband of 21 years, Kevin Hunter, the host seemed to indicate that going public with her addiction battle led to her decision to pull the plug on her relationship.
“Everybody has things in their life that they’re embarrassed to share with the world, or they’re frightened to share with the world, or they’re not ready to share with the world,” Williams said. “And addressing my sobriety, my addiction head on, has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life.”
As usual, Williams was her own Hot Topic—during the segment of her show in which she runs down recent celebrity dish, she acknowledged that her gossip motto “their business is our business” has turned around on her. “Now my business is your business… it’s kind of funny,” she said. “Turnabout’s a fair game, I get it. My business is your business.”
The Wendy Williams Show’s Friday episode, while technically new, was pre-taped and Williams did not address the divorce news on it.
