The Los Angeles District Attorney Is Reviewing a Sex Crimes Case Against Kevin Spacey

Latest

A sex crime case against Kevin Spacey, who has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by multiple people, is currently being reviewed by the Los Angeles District Attorney.

The case was brought to prosecutors on April 5, according to CNN and confirmed by the Los Angeles District Attorney. As of right now there are no other details regarding the case.

In October 2017 actor Anthony Rapp came forward with a story about how Spacey, then 26, made sexual advances towards him when he was just 14, and then other men come forward with similar stories. There were also reports from the House of Cards set that he groped and harassed young staff members working on the show. Spacey is currently being investigated by Scotland Yard, as well, for three different assault claims which occurred when the actor served as the artistic director of the Old Vic theater. The theater ultimately received 20 reported allegations of inappropriate conduct from Spacey.

Just yesterday, it was reported that Los Angeles County prosecutors will not charge director James Toback, accused of multiple instances of sexual misconduct, with sex crimes after five cases were brought to the DA. Both the Manhattan and Los Angeles DA are also reviewing cases against Harvey Weinstein, making it clear that for that first wave of high-profile men accused of predator behavior back in October, the allegations against them are finally moving through the official channels of law enforcement.
