The Last Five Years Trailer Will Give You a Bad Case of The Feelings

The trailer for the film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown’s musical The Last Five Years has dropped and boy is Anna Kendrick just singing up a storm these days these days! About an actress and a writer (Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan of Smash) whose deteriorating relationship is documented via song in a nonlinear manner, the movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September to underwhelming reviews.

(Also of note: this is the musical that was inspired by Brown’s own relationship breaking up, which, as the Washington Post reported in 2005, prompted his ex-wife to file a lawsuit against him over how she was represented in it. It was settled.)
