On Wednesday, Sarah Palin took time out of a speech at a Donald Trump rally to comment on her 26-year-old son Track’s recent arrest on a domestic violence charge. What drove him to violence? President Obama.
In her speech, she shouted that we need a commander-in-chief that would “never leave our forces behind.” Then, seamlessly, she transitioned to her son’s brush with the law.
“Let me get a little bit personal about this. I’m talking about not leaving our wounded warriors behind also,” she said at a Tulsa, Oklahoma event. “I guess it’s kind of the elephant in the room because my own family going through what we’re going through today, with my son, a combat vet, having served in the striker brigade fighting for you all America in the war zone. But my son, like so many others, they come back a bit different. They come back hardened. They come back wondering if there is that respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airmen every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to this country.”
“It starts from the top, the question though that comes from our own president, where they have to look at him and wonder, ‘Do you know what we go through?’” she continued. “So when my own son is going through what he goes through coming back, I can certainly relate with other families who kinda feel these ramifications of some PTSD and some of the woundedness that our soldiers do return with.”
According to police reports, police were sent to a house owned by Sarah and Todd Palin after receiving a 911 call from a woman who claimed she had been punched in the face by a man who also had a gun. When police arrived at the residence, Track had an injury to his right eye, his breath smelled like alcohol, and he was “uncooperative, belligerent, and evasive.”
When the cops finally found the victim, Track’s girlfriend of one year, she was crying underneath a bed. Track allegedly punched and kicked the woman, and pointed a gun at his own head and shouted, “Do you think I’m a pussy?” and “Do you think I won’t do it?”
Correction: Jezebel initially wrote that Track Palin pointed a gun at his girlfriend’s face. He actually pointed it at his own.
