Noted Treasonist Beyoncé Launches New Lifestyle Blog Beyhive

Latest

More Bey news today, and this time it has nothing to do with the recent reveal that she lip-synced the “Star Spangled Banner” at the Inauguration.

After dipping her toe in blogging waters with her Tumblr account, Queen Bey has launched a Goop-y lifestyle blog and newsletter called Beyhive. More than anything, it seems like her own personally designed version of Pinterest, with different categories of mood boards (music/movies/books/art, people who inspire her, fashion, and fan art) all curated by Beyoncé. Some examples: she’s currently digging the artist Sophie Calle, the film Beasts of the Southern Wild, and Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking.

While the site doesn’t have much editorializing and is mostly image-based click-thru links to the work she’s personally endorsing, it comes off like a skeleton of a bigger project. It wouldn’t be surprising if this was all inspired by a conversation that she had with Gwyneth, maybe when the two of them were having a sunset Hermes blanket picnic in a Tuscan vineyard, eating olives picked by the cutest 99-year-old Italian lady who gets around her village on a tandem bicycle she used to share with her husband who’s now deceased. Gwyneth was probably like, “See, Bey, this is the kind of stuff you should be telling people about. This is service-y. This is how you can pay it forward.”

Kidding. Beyoncé’s site is actually pretty cool, if for nothing else than to join a make-believe book club with her in your head.
