Mockingjay: Part 2 Looks Low On Dialogue, High On Explosions—Watch the Trailer

Entertainment

If you thought that the last film in the Hunger Games franchise was a little more claustrophobic than the previous two (it took place primarily in an underground bunker), the trailer for the fourth and final film in the franchise will be a breath of fresh air tinged with gunpowder. That’s because, if the trailer is anything to go by, Mockingjay Part 2 looks like it’s just explosion after explosion after explosion. But outdoors! And you know what? That’s totally cool.

The film, which comes out November 20th, will wrap up the series, bringing fans closure and introducing them to The Capitol in a state we haven’t seen it yet—broken, terrified, and diabolically cruel. And for those of us who had trouble picturing some of the traps and weapons in the last book of the series, it will also give us a visual of what The Capitol’s “pods” look like.

I’m especially interested to see how the filmmakers will handle some of the book’s biggest set pieces, which include scenes of collapsing streets and sewers full of monsters. But if the last several films are any indication, fans are likely to be pleased with the series finale.
