Congratulations, Emma Stone. You’ve made it. You’re a star—a star who is now contractually obligated to wear Louis Vuitton gowns on the red carpet for the next two years.
Page Six reports in a hot-off-the-presses exclusive that Stone has won the title of America’s Next Louis Vuitton Brand Ambassador, signing a contract that, per their sources, is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $6 to $10 million and unseating Alicia Vikander, who previously held the title. Louis Vuitton had been courting Stone for a year and she finally caved.
Nothing new here! Nothing very exciting! Just another Hollywood star who is making some money, everything’s fine, I’m just going to go close my computer and lie down and—excuse me, what is this?
Interestingly, the French fashion house had previously been chasing Stone’s “La La Land” co-star Ryan Gosling for three years, but, “Ryan repeatedly turned Louis Vuitton down because he doesn’t do endorsement deals.”
Ryan? Gosling? Ryan Gosling as the face of Louis Vuitton? Ryan Gosling was their first pick and Emma Stone was chopped liver? Ryan Gosling can fill out a tux, but he’s a man who is intensely private, has hidden his children from the prying eyes of the paparazzi and generally looks like he merely tolerates press. Why would you want Ryan Gosling to be the face of Louis Vuitton?? Good for Emma Stone—but this is rude to Emma Stone, too. I’m just glad the right one won.
