Kendall Jenner Maybe Backpedals on Saying Bruce Is Transitioning

Latest

Kendall Jenner confirmed and expressed support for Bruce Jenner’s reported transition in an interview with US Weekly published earlier today. Or did she?

A quote from the model appeared in an “exclusive interview” with US Weekly and has been widely circulated across the internet—even USA Today reported on her comments.

“I love my dad. He’s always been there for me and my sisters,” the 19-year-old model shared of the former Olympian, 65, who has six kids and four stepkids with ex-wives Kris Jenner, Linda Thompson, and Chrystie Crownover. “He’s a wonderful man. And just because he’s changing shoes now, so to speak, doesn’t make him less wonderful. I will always love my dad, whether he’s a man or a woman.”

Gender pronoun issues aside, Kendall’s comments sound genuine and she seemed to speak quite candidly about a situation that Bruce Jenner and the rest of the family have largely tiptoed around. The interview also delves into Kendall’s modeling career and her family’s “work ethic.”

However, Kendall just tweeted something that seems to call her interview into question.

She didn’t add anything else, so it’s possible that she’s referring to a different quote from the interview—or an entirely different interview altogether—but that seems doubtful.

Far be it from me to designate much sympathy for this group of people—and I guess we’ll also set aside the fact that the Kardashian family has cashed more than their fair share of US Weekly checks. Still, it would be pretty shitty for her comments about such a private situation to be taken out of context or, even worse, made up entirely.

That being said, I tend not to believe a word any of these people say so let’s just call it a draw.
