Congratulations to Joe Manganiello and his well-defined muscles on being named number one on People magazine’s list of “Hollywood’s Hottest Bachelors.” Also known as “A List of Industry Professionals Who Excel in Public Relations Synergy!”

People is always going around naming the “Sexiest Man Alive” and listing the “Most Beautiful People in the World.” The lists are not necessarily accurate; they’re generally fronted by a celeb with a current project to promote. Manganiello is no different: True Blood just returned to HBO, and his documentary, La Bare, just hit theaters.

And yet.

Manganiello is actually incredibly hot.

Is it possible for a man to be too hot?

There are moments, in the video above, in which True Blood and Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello is, quite possibly, too hot. It’s like staring into the sun. You have to look away… it hurts. For some reason, when he’s just sitting there, scratching his head, thinking, brow furrowed… It’s unfair. It’s not the abs, it’s the confidence, the swagger, the comfortable-in-his-skin-ness. Oh. And the gray in the beard.

“I’m at my best when I have someone to wake up next to,” he tells People.

Sob.
