As reported on Monday, the past few days have been horrendous and heartbreaking for Lance Bass, the former N’Sync star who lost out on buying the iconic open-concept Brady Bunch house of his dreams. Last week, Bass excitedly tweeted that he’d won a bid for the home, only to have his dreams dashed by, he said, “a billion dollar corporate entity” that swooped in and canceled him. Now comes more devastating news: it was HGTV that did it. HGTV bought the Brady Bunch house!

Great news for HGTV fans (me). Not great news for Lance Bass...

Deadline reports, further tearing up his heart:

“One of our projects for HGTV will speak to those Brady Bunch fans on the call,” he said. “You may have heard that the house from the iconic series was recently on the market in California. I’m excited to share that HGTV is the winning bidder and will restore the Brady Bunch home to its 1970s glory as only HGTV can. More detail to come over the next few months but we’ll bring all the resources to bear to tell safe, fun stories about this beloved piece of American TV history.”

“Not on my watch, bitch!” HGTV said to Bass. And life continues on.
