Hands in, Aca-Bitches: Pitch Perfect Gets Sequel

Illustration for article titled Hands in, Aca-Bitches: emPitch Perfect/em Gets Sequel

The Aca-Tramps from Pitch Perfect are headed back to the theaters in 2015. Kay Cannon is returning as the screenwriter (yes!), but nothing is confirmed beyond that — though it's hard to imagine the cast would pass up the opportunity to reprise their rolls in a Cannon-penned script. Besides, what else does that cast of medium-talent randoms* have to do?

I enjoyed this movie but two things bothered me about it: 1) It was like a re-telling of Bring It On, which wasn't a super original concept, but the plot was near identical; and 2) It seemed so try-hard. It was tried sooo haaard to be quotable and make funny jokes. Though I guess it worked. As long as we have more Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin, and Utkarsh Ambudkar! And I hope it's called Pitch Perfect: Bumper's Revenge.
