Guy Pearce Implies He Was Harassed by Kevin Spacey While Working on L.A. Confidential

In a forthcoming interview with Australian talk show host Andrew Denton, actor Guy Pearce suggests that Kevin Spacey was “handsy” with him on the set of 1992’s L.A. Confidential, the Guardian reports.

Asked about his experiences working with Spacey, Pearce offered a measured reply. “Tough one to talk about at the moment,” Pearce said. “Amazing actor; incredible actor. Mmm….slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah,” Pearce said before adding, “He’s a handsy guy.” Pearce the added: “Thankfully I was 29, and not 14.”

Pearce’s comments came amid a series of largely lighthearted questions and responses about celebrities he has worked with during his career.

Prior to Pearce’s revelation, 15 men have publicly accused Spacey of sexual misconduct since 2017 after actor Antony Rapp said that Spacey sexually harassed him in 1986. Rapp was 14 years old at the time. In a statement issued shortly after Rapp’s allegations, Spacey said he did not remember “the encounter,” but apologized for “deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.”

As a result, Spacey was fired from Netflix’s House of Cards and replaced by Christopher Plummer in the movie All the Money in the World. Some of the allegations are also being investigated by the Los Angeles and London police.

Pearce, the Guardian notes, is the most famous of the numerous men who have made sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey. As with previous accusations—excluding Rapp—Spacey has not responded.
