First Westworld Trailer Features Evan Rachel Wood as a Creepy Sexbot

HBO’s upcoming series Westworld has the potential to be one of the most mind-blowing shows on television, and the newly-released trailer does nothing to hedge my probably too-high hopes.

The show is based on a 1973 Michael Crichton film about a theme park that allows people to live their fantasies with androids and will star James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, and Anthony Hopkins. It is expected to premiere sometime next year, at which time it will undoubtedly be the subject of hundreds of teens’ unhappy acid trips.

“It is expected to premiere sometime next year, at which time it will undoubtedly be the subject of hundreds of teens’ unhappy acid trips.”

Teens - “What’s acid?”

Olds - “It’s kind of like Molly but You’re way less horny and more introspective. It kind of leads you into seeing the world in new and different ways that allows you to explore alternative perspectives.”

Teens - “Sounds kind of cool, what are the risks?”

Olds - “For about six hours you will become really interested in mundane things all around you that have seemingly been imbued with profound meaning, as if they were metaphors for the nature of existence and the small strange part we all play in the universe.”

Teens - “That doesn’t sound too bad.”

Olds - “Most likely you will find a piece of lint that you find captivating, muse on the possibility that it is a universe unto itself, and try to communicate that concept to someone else who just won’t get it.”

Teens - “I don’t think that sounds like fu..”

Olds - “Oh yeah it last from anywhere between 6 and 24 hours.”

Teens - “No thanks.”
