Cynthia Nixon Has Never Heard of The Carrie Diaries

Despite starring in six seasons and two movie versions of Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon was apparently unaware of the existence of The Carrie Diaries, the SatC prequel now in its second season on The CW—which is so very Miranda of her.

A Vanity Fair blogger spoke with AnnaSophia Robb, who stars as Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, this week at a screening of Thor: The Dark World. She shared an anecdote of how she recently ran into Nixon in the bathroom during a Broadway show.

“I was at the counter, and I went, ‘Oh, hi, I’m on the Carrie Diaries show. I’m a big fan,” Robb said.

Except Nixon didn’t know what she was talking about.

“She had no idea,” Robb laughed. “Which is the best part.”

But you can’t really blame her. Her TiVo is probably clogged with episodes of Jules & Mimi.
