Today in Tweet Beat, Chris Brown wants you to think about how he feels when he's criticized for his violence and petulance. Plus, Kim Kardashian gets her butt x-rayed to prove that it's real.
this may not be popular, but i am sick of hearing him apologize AND then being attacked still, over and over.
do we know all the details about their relationship(chris and rihanna)? do we know whether she was abusive towards him? do we know anything, really? most importantly, do we know if she's forgiven him? because her forgiveness and his contrition are all that matters.
the other day, i came upon an old jezebel link (like from 2009) about a documentary on a woman who had been horrendously abused, and subsequently killed her husband with her son's help. in the comments, a brave commenter remarked that her father had violently abused her mother. more unusually, she said that she and he now have a strong relationship. she has forgiven him. not something we often hear. i applaud her.
so - what we do know: chris brown is a KID who came from an abusive home. can't we just forgive him (in so far as our opinions about him even matter) and hope he leads a life of progress and positivity? is it really so hard for us? he has been exposed and publicly humiliated. he has apologized multiple times. why can't we allow him to move on and become a better man?
chris brown has been made the banner case for DV. is that fair? sure, i wish he would stop with the obnoxious tweets, and the public flaunting in various ways is super annoying, but again: KID.
