Cara Delevingne's Debut Music Video Looks and Sounds Like an Edgy Banana Republic Commercial

Entertainment

Cara Delevingne is a singer now.

Should this video feel like a complete surprise, please remember that Delevingne has been working on her musical career with Pharrell for three years. She also once sang with Pharrell for Karl Lagerfeld and Beyoncé. And now, here she is, starring in her very own music video for her very own song, “I Feel Everything” from the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets soundtrack.

Delevingne…doesn’t really do much here. She wears a suit very well. She wears some wigs. She warbles like the best person at an amateur karaoke night or maybe when a celebrity says “I can sing, guys!” and then grabs the mic and does just that. I’ve had this video open in a tab playing on repeat, so as to get a sense of Delevingne’s vision. The best I can come up with is a hint of edgy Lancôme Trésor perfume commercial crossed with a Banana Republic ad for The New Suiting multiplied by long-forgotten British soul singer Duffy, who peaked around the time Adele peaked and was therefore eclipsed.

Anyway! There’s Cara Delevingne. Wearing a suit and some wigs. Singing. Have a great weekend.
