Britney Spears's Vegas Residency Is No More

Icon and activist Britney Spears bid farewell to the Las Vegas show life Sunday night, giving the final performance of her four-year Britney: Piece Of Me residency. All of her sequined outfits during this period were spectacular, and it is very sad to see them go.

People reports that Britney announced in April that she’d be winding down her residency at the AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and last night ABC aired her swan song on New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. Britney did “Toxic” and wore a sparkly red bodysuit, because Britney will never let you down.

“As I prepare to say goodbye to Piece of Me, I had no idea how magical this experience would be,” Britney said in a press release when she first announced the impending end to her Vegas run. “Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show.”

Though the loss of Britney will certainly reverberate up and down the Strip, Lady Gaga’s upcoming residency at MGM Park Theater, set to kick off sometime later this year, will hopefully ease the pain. If you’re desperate for something vaguely related to music to tide you over until then, The Chainsmokers have their own Vegas residency that will exist probably until they both die.

Maria Menounos and boyfriend Keven Undergaro got surprise married on TV on New Year’s Eve, in a ceremony officiated by, um, Steve Harvey. Menounos’s parents were there:

Everyone seemed quite cold, but love is like a big, warm jacket, so I’m sure they were just fine.
