Forget posting closeup overheads filtered lovingly through Valencia to your Instagram, taking selfies with your bookshelfies (sorry) is the latest in vanity pics.

It’s not enough to be just attractive anymore, now you have to be attractive and smart. Or, at least have a lot of books, because that’s how people know you’re smart. I kinda regret giving away most of mine when I got a Kindle — how will people know I can read now?? All my living room has is a couch, a few chairs, and a TV. And currently a half-empty bottle of Pink Truck California Pink Wine. And a Tofurky hot pocket wrapper.
