Ask a Mortician: Do You Believe in Ghosts?

In the new edition of Ask A Mortician, our death-obsessed friend Caitlin Doughty visits Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA.

Here's her stance on ghosts: "Once you're dead, you're dead." True! That said, she did go on a Ghost Tour, where her group supposedly encountered the spirit of a murdered slave named Molly. Good times.

Who actually believes in ghosts? Or, if you have some level of belief, where does the spook start and the bullshit end for you?

For me, I definitely think there is a fair amount of spook stuff that we call paranormal activity that happens more or less as described, but that does not prove spirits are real. For me, it's more physics phenomenon we can't explain. Or maybe even a brain phenomenon. I grew up with too many spooky, consistent, and corroborated-by-third-party experiences to completely dismiss all the spook.
