There's an update in the American Apparel plus-size model search debacle: The Creative Director has asked Nancy Upton — the woman who won the contest but will not be recognized as the winner — to come and check out the company. And meet, face-to-face.

I spoke with Iris Alonzo on the phone yesterday. She has graciously offered to fly Shannon [Skloss, the photographer] and me out to LA to visit American Apparel and get a look at what it's really like being inside the company.
I agreed, as long as I could write about what I saw. She said that would be fine.
