Youth Lingerie Football League Is Worst Idea Ever

The Lingerie Football League plans to start a youth division — and yes, it’s just as disturbing as it sounds.

The good news is that at least according to KING5, the youth league will be fully clothed. The bad news is, well, everything else. From the Lingerie Football League (LFL) site:

With the growing popularity around the LFL, younger and younger girls are starting to dream of playing LFL football. In recent months and years, parents of young ladies routinely contact LFL league offices inquiring about everything ranging from what size football do you use to what form of training should I place my daughter into now to prepare her for LFL Football.

Younger and younger girls are dreaming of playing lingerie football? How should I train my daughter for lingerie football? Take out the “lingerie” part and all of this is normal — add it back in and it’s totally weird. So’s this statement by league chairman Mitchell Mortaza:

Obviously the improvement of our game is directly tied into the development of the future LFL athlete. What excites us at the league is seeing the caliber of athletes improve so vastly each season, now imagine in five years when we start fielding athletes that have trained their entire life for the opportunity to play LFL Football.

Even if the youth league will be clothed, the idea of training girls for their entire lives to play lingerie football is pretty strange. Maybe at least let them hit puberty before you start preparing them to play sports in sexy underwear? All this is doubly sad because there are a lack of football opportunities for girls, and it would be great for them to have a league to play in. Just not one that’s about training them for sexiness.
