Your Morning Happy Cry: 97-Year-Old Grandpa Creates Gorgeous Pixel Art

Latest

Meet 97-year-old Hal Lasko — also known as Grandpa because “I’m old and that’s what I am” — who was a typographer and graphic artist back in the day, but is now a pro at Microsoft Paint. His grandson set him up with the program 15 years ago, and despite his waning vision, he’s a talented and prolific artist, blending pointillism and 8-Bit art.

This whole piece is like an ad for Kinko’s and Microsoft, but I don’t care. His art is so cool — I want everything! Space highways, hell yeah.
