Families who lost loved ones in last December’s Sandy Hook shootings sat down with 60 Minutes to talk about the tragedy, and to focus on passing sounder gun control laws in Connecticut.

It’s an interesting time for guns in America, because states are, predictably, taking very different stances. While Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy signed into law some of the toughest gun control measures in the country last week, 10 states pushed through 17 new laws that actually broadened gun rights. We’ll see what happens federally, but it’s shaping up to be a helluva fight.
