Your Evening Sob: Sandy Hook Children's Choir Sings ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’

Latest

Member of the Sandy Hook choir from Sandy Hook Elementary School are paying tribute to their murdered classmates and teachers with a heartbreaking rendition of the Wizard of Oz classic, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. This song gets me every time, but this version is almost unbearably poignant.

With help from singer Ingrid Michaelson, and recorded at the Connecticut home of Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz of the Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club, it’s hard not to imagine these children as little angels.

The song is also available for purchase on iTunes, with the proceeds benefiting the Newtown Youth Academy and United Way of Western Connecticut.
