“Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways,” they told People on the eve of the premiere of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “We’ve shared 9 beautiful and joyous years together. During that time we experienced love, friendship and the inevitable challenges that come with managing a marriage, careers, blended families and health issues.”
“We are grateful for the years we’ve spent together and believe wholeheartedly that we did our best,” the couple’s statement continues. “I hope that we can pave the road ahead of us with all we’ve learned and with the love and respect we will always have for one another.”
Us Weekly has more, indicating that this break-up was a long time coming, and tied to Yolanda’s battle with Lyme disease, which is going to be a plot point on this season of RHOBH (though TMZ notes the pair don’t appear to have filed for divorce):
According to one insider, things got “rocky” when the former model got sick in 2012 with Lyme disease. “She didn’t think he was there for her,” the source explains to Us. As portrayed on RHOBH, David is constantly on the road.
The number of intimate and touching moments the two shared while on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is almost too long to list. Remember when she made him that fancy chicken and they ate it while she was in her lingerie? Remember when she gave him that book full of intimate photos of her? Remember when he stood by her through her struggle with Lyme disease? Remember when they left their dream home in Malibu because she couldn’t take care of it any longer? Remember all those dinner parties where David played the piano and Yolanda barked at anyone who didn’t listen? Remember when he admitted he’d been a shitty husband to his other wives and that it’s tough in Hollywood to stick around when there’s always someone younger and hotter? Remember the video from their wedding, which was on 11/11/11?

This will be the fourth divorce for David (he was previously married to Linda Thompson, aka Brody and Brandon Jenner’s mother aka Caitlyn Jenner’s ex-wife, which is how his step children Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid are tenuously related by marriage to the Kardashians) and the second for Yolanda. It’s the first true heartbreak for me.
