Another day, another notch on the reboot belt, and it’s time to start practicing the Carlton: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is getting a modern makeover.
In 1990, Will Smith made the move from rapping to his breakthrough role as a teenager from West Philadelphia (born and raised) who is sent to live with his relatives in Bel Air. Smith will be involved in the reboot, but in the role of executive producer. Via TVLine:
Smith’s production shingle, Overbrook Entertainment, is in the very early stages of developing a present-day family comedy that puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of Fresh Prince.
