Now that Casey Anthony’s been found not guilty, the deluge of media offers can begin. Sadly for everyone, satisfying our morbid curiosity is probably the only way Anthony can make money.

Fox News speculates on Anthony’s likely impeding interview deal — she could get up to $1 million for an exclusive. Then there’s the possibility of a tell-all book or even movie deal — apparently Kristen Stewart and Lindsay Lohan have been mentioned as possible stars. Telling her own story might give Anthony the chance to dispel some rumors, like the one that says she got pregnant in jail to avoid the death penalty. However, all these methods of cashing in have their pitfalls. A media expert told Fox,

She can certainly profit from this case through book deals, movie deals, television deals etc., but she also risks making herself a bigger pariah than OJ Simpson if she’s seen as profiting from her child’s death. If she agrees to talk, she could get paid a lot, but she will then have to explain all the details of the drowning, she will be asked about getting molested by her father and if she does, charges could be brought against him.

Another option: porn. According to TMZ, Vivid Entertainment head Steven Hirsch wants Anthony to star in a film. He says,

Whether you agree with the verdict or not, Casey will want to move forward with her life and has a right to make a living. It’s not going to be easy for her and we believe we can help her make the transition into a new life.

This was pretty much Amy Fisher’s rationale for doing porn — after she became notorious for shooting her much-older boyfriend’s wife, she said, “I need employment, no one else will give me employment. I just go with it — I don’t know what else to do.” It’s understandable that notoriety can be titillating, but it also says something about our society’s skewed view of sex work that it becomes the last option for disgraced women. Of course, plenty of people enter porn willingly and joyfully — but it’s so stigmatized that it’s also become a catch-all for ladies with no reputation to lose, which is more than a little sad.

It’s true that a woman known nationwide for being accused of murdering her daughter may have trouble finding employment. The judge in her case, on the other hand, could be heading for stardom. According to PopEater, Judge Belvin Perry is tailor-made for a TV gig. At least one casting agent has already tried to meet with him, and if he plays his cards right, he could be “the next Judge Judy.”
