Watch Run The Jewels Ask Children About a Woman President, Their Moms

Run the Jewels have had an excellent year: the powerhouse rap/production duo of Killer Mike and El-P dropped Run the Jewels 2 in October and it topped many a critic’s best of 2014 list. They also appeared on Letterman, dropped a trippy video, and gave salient dating advice to teenagers.

But this? This might be their career peak: doing “Barbershop Talk” with wee kids, talking about girls being smarter than boys (to which the boys concur), which women should be president (their moms, obviously), and um, whether non-violent drug offenders should go to rehab instead of prison. (The kids’ opinions are more logical than those of many adult policymakers.)

This video comes from Mass Appeal, both a venerated hip-hop and graffiti magazine and the label that released Run the Jewels 2. The interview is conducted at Graffiti’s SWAG Shop in Atlanta. The children are our future. Treat them well and let them lead the way.
