God, Friday is GARBAGE. First we get the name Shookus, then I just saw this video of a fish who’s been sliced in half but is still alive, and the New York City L train is filling up with smoke. And now we have untreatable strains of gonorrhea!
The World Health Organization reported on Friday that they’ve found three different cases of a sort of “superbug” version of gonorrhea that is drug resistant. Experts say it is “only a matter of time” before gonorrhea antibiotics will be of no use. The STD infects an estimated 78 million people a year.

“Gonorrhea is a very smart bug,” WHO epidemiologist Teodora Wi told the Guardian. “Every time you introduce a new type of antibiotic to treat it, this bug develops resistance to it.”
Cool, cool. TGIF!
