Look, it's Dreamworks' The Croods, a new animated flick that will absolutely be compared to Brave because it's about a female protagonist with frizzy red hair who makes her parents' lives' hell. The animation looks lovely, and I'm excited for another strong lady lead. Plus, The Croods has a secret weapon: Nicholas Cage!!! Unleash the beast!!!
(That's all I need to know; I'll be there opening night.)
DISCUSSION
Dreamworks movies just very rarely seem to have very much heart to them. Does that make sense? These movies seem so churned out. With Pixar*, I very much feel like everyone involved in the project believed in it and wanted it to be good, not just profitable.
*Exception: the Cars franchise.
