Speaking to journalist Niela Orr, Haddish, who stars in the upcoming Night School alongside Kevin Hart, talks about her early stand-up mentors, Hollywood creeps, and how she would’ve fared as a sex-ed teacher. You know, in case you were wondering:
I would be the best sex education teacher. I guarantee none of my kids would have STDs after I finish teaching them.
At one point, Orr asks Haddish if Sanaa Lathan was the woman she was talking about when she told the story of a celebrity trying to bite Beyoncé’s face. Haddish clarifies that she never named names.
I didn’t confirm shit. The reporter was like, ‘Sanaa Lathan?’ I’m, like, three drinks in, so of course I was about to laugh… They thought I put her name out there, but I didn’t. I never said nothing. And Beyoncé didn’t say nothing. Let the person who [bit Beyoncé] bury themselves…. I ain’t trying to destroy this girl. I didn’t say shit about the girl.
At least Tiffany’s got a good attitude about the whole debacle.
What is that expression? …If they’re not talking, then you’re not doing your job.
