The Adele Moment That Articulates Everything In Your Soul

Latest

In addition to “Let’s Make Technology Hump,” this weekend’s SNL featured a sketch that simply cannot go without comment and/or recognition. In four very special minutes that are, as of now, otherwise unavailable online, we’ve got chicken wings, sobbing, pints of ice cream, parakeets, smeared mascara, Friday Night Lights, and Adele’s “Someone Like You.” If you’ve ever listened to sob-friendly music to help wring every last tear out of your heaving soul — and who hasn’t? (1995 h/t Sarah McLachlan) — this will speak to you. Like many great comedic moments, it’s funny because it’s all too true. When it comes to weepy wallowing, stereotypes are there for a reason. And that’s okay. Let it all out.
