The 2016 Oscar Nominations Are Here: Still Very White, Still Very Boring

Entertainment

The 2016 Oscar nomination (for 2015 films) have been announced, and, well whatever. This maybe isn’t the time for me to complain about Carol not getting enough or The Revenant getting too many. Or that no actors of color were nominated in any category, nor did any of the films landing nominations in the major categories feature people of color. (Straight Outta Compton was nominated for Best Screenplay; the screenplay for Straight Outta Compton was, notoriously, written by two white people.)
