Target Locked-On: Amazon Drones Will Deliver Your Future Crap

Amazon claims these freaky flying machines will drop goods into your hands in 30 minutes or less. No word yet on when the retail behemoth is officially changing its name to Skynet. Has a ring to it, doesn’t it? Also, Sarah Connor: YOU BETTER RUN, GIRL.

We’re excited to share Prime Air – something the team has been working on in our next generation R&D lab. The goal of this new delivery system is to get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles. Putting Prime Air into commercial use will take some number of years as we advance technology and wait for the necessary FAA rules and regulations. This is footage from a recent test flight.

So, you get your stuff and Amazon gets a photo of your face to go with your shopping history. JKJKJK. Probably.

If the FAA approves this, I will be incredibly impressed and also massively skeeved out by Amazon’s lobbying powers. That said, I just started craving a taco.
