Stressed Fliers Find Solace in Adorable Puppy and Kitten Videos

Does flying stress you out? Do you want to leap from your assigned seat and dive into a pile of cuddly animals instead? Well, British Airways is implementing the next best thing this month: in-flight cat and dog videos on their new Paws & Relax channel.

After digesting some serious research from pyschologists, the airline realized that people can be eased with videos of fuzzy animals. Via the Telegraph:

“It might sound barking, but there’s lots of research to suggest that watching pets can enhance overall wellbeing,” says Richard D’Cruze, BA’s in-flight entertainment manager. “We have sniffed out some fantastic content that is cute, comforting and sure to appeal to travellers of all ages.”

Barking, sniffed out — get it??

A few of the starring pets came from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London. Marquee players include Alfie the Pug, Sky the Siberian Husky, Angelica the Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross and kittens Karma, Knight and Karis. They are all up for adoption and I want all of them. In addition to their original content, BA will also air Simon’s Cat, BBC’s The Secret Life of Cats and America’s Cutest Dog. (Someone should tell them about Jackson Galaxy’s My Cat From Hell.)

If cats and dogs aren’t your thing, British Airways also has a clip of a seven-hour train ride from Oslo to Bergen so you can pretend you’re still on the ground. Which is also nice, but is there a video where I can pretend that I’m wrapped in the British arms of Idris Elba while drinking P.G. Tips and eating digestive cookies? I need it, I’m so stressed, guys.
