So Long, James Woods! [Update]

Latest

James Woods, America’s Number One Fan, has (possibly) announced via a real estate listing in the Providence Journal that he will be retiring from acting. He will not, however, relieve himself of the duty of tweeting GIFs mocking Democrats four times hourly with hashtags like #BeyondDumb. Thanks!

“Woods is known for his conservative political views, and has said that’s made it tough to find work in Hollywood,” writes the Journal. “Gammons [James Woods’s real estate agent] said Woods’ decision was not political.” Gammons notes that Woods’s mother and brother have recently passed away. Woods has, however, said (tweeted) as early as 2013 “I don’t expect to work again. I think Barack Obama is a threat to the integrity and future of the Republic. My country first.” He tweeted in late August that he accepts the fact that he’s been “blacklisted” by Hollywood.

Likely needless to rehash, Woods has made his political views known. Barack Obama: “liar,” “abomination,” “a threat to the integrity and future of the Republic.” Trump: a “true gentleman.”

Woods lately feuded with actress Amber Tamblyn after he tweeted that Armie Hammer’s upcoming movie about a gay romance between a 17-year-old and a 24-year-old “chip[s] away at the last barriers of decency” with the hashtag #NAMBLA. Tamblyn fired back with an allegation that Woods had tried to pick her up when she was 16, which led to a New York Times op-ed.

Let’s see, what else…misidentifying a woman doing a Nazi salute as a Bernie Sanders supporter, calling Al Sharpton a “disgusting pig” and a “race pimp,” replying to Anderson Cooper’s Kellyanne Conway eye roll with the phrase “as his butt plug dislodges during a newscast…”

He’s pro-NRA, etc, etc, etc.

He plans to spend more time antiquing, reports the Journal.

Goodbye, sir, and thank you for your service in Videodrome.

UPDATE 10/8: James Woods has told the Washington Post that he isn’t sure how his real estate agent announced his retirement, but assured the paper that “[m]y career is not going to end in a real estate announcement.” So, welcome back, James Woods!
