All the cool girls came out to marvel at how Paul Rudd hasn’t aged a day since Clueless.
I think this is the first time Zooey Deschanel has been on the red carpet not looking like she’s dressed for an aspirational picnic. (You know, the kind that’s soaked in golden honey sunlight, with pitchers of lemonade that somehow never spill, a Victrola that plays mood-appropriate music, a $700 quilt from Anthropologie, and where the only bugs are butterflies.) Still, she looks like Ellen Griswold shopping in Europe.
Paul Rudd looks perfectly handsome. Aubrey Plaza and Amy Poehler are twinsies, but Plaza has the edge here. And Rashida Jones’ lovely dress just needed a little bit of tailoring.
Even though she’s not in the film and is comparatively casual, I think Busy Phillips was Best Dressed. All the elements work together.
From the front, Elizabeth Banks looks great. From behind, she’s wearing a totally different, totally uglier dress with butt wings.
Olivia Munn is dressed for a Real Housewives reunion taping. Janet Montgomery and all 3000 of her sequins look out of place. Meanwhile Katie Aselton’s casual top and sparkly shorts strike a better balance.
Yikes, Kathryn Hahn. It’s hard to choose which aspect of her look is worse: The sensible shoes, the church brunch dress, or the tassel-y embellishments.
