Silvio Berlusconi officially resigned as Italy’s prime minister today, according to the presidential palace press office.
Berlusconi, who up until now had managed to survive numerous sexual and ethical scandals, previously said he would step down once economic measures passed both houses of parliament and now that parliament has approved “a package, which includes spending cuts and proposals to boost growth,” his work is officially done.
