Significant Percentage Of Americans Still Think Interracial Marriage Is Wrong

Latest

A recent Gallup poll of 1,319 adults in the U.S. found that approval for interracial marriage has reached a high point, with 86% saying they have no problem with it. Apparently this is supposed to be reason for celebration, but it’s still disturbing that more than 1 in 10 people are against two people loving each other because of the color of their skin. It seems the results may have been influenced by a number of elderly people who are “set in their ways” (read: committed to remaining bigots). The poll found approval of marriages between blacks and whites is slightly lower among Southerners, Republicans, conservatives, and those in lower education levels, but the elderly are the least approving group at 66%.
