Shocker: Racist LA Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Is Also Sexist

Latest

The newest chapter in the controversy surrounding Donald Sterling is fairly unsurprising. Old court documents unearthed on The Smoking Gun show that Sterling, owner of the LA Clippers and man whose skin is made out of sewn-together dried apricots, is, in addition to being racist, a sexist jerk. WHAT AN OPPOSITE OF A TWIST!

Sterling history of saying offensive shit on record goes back much than the recently leaked tape where you can hear him yelling at his girlfriend for associating with black people. In a 2003 lawsuit involving former mistress Alexandra Castro, Sterling told courts about his penchant for getting fellatio in the back of limos, having his toes sucked and exchanging money for sex — none of that is so bad in and of itself, but the way he talked about the female participant in all of this was pretty abhorrent.

Talking Points Memo reports:

Here’s how Sterling summarized his view of his alleged mistress, Alexandra Castro, back then, after apparently being asked if she had ever been to an abortion clinic: “I wouldn’t have had a child and certainly not with that piece of trash.”
“This girl is the lowest form … She is a freak. A total freak,” he said. “I knew from the day she came in that she was a total freak and a piece of trash.”

Despite his low opinion of Castro, he then went on to say, “That is the best sex of all the women I have ever had … That is all she ever provided was sex, nothing else” and “Every secretary is honey. I’m a very flowery man. If you are having sex with a woman you are paying for, you always call her honey because you can’t remember her name.”

Sterling’s wife Rochelle (oh, yeah, he’s been married for 50 years) is once again bringing ol’ Don the Flowery Man’s sex life into court by suing V. Stiviano, the young woman who Sterling can allegedly be heard berating on the leaked tape. Mrs. Sterling claims that Stiviano schemed to “target, befriend, seduce and then entice, cajole, borrow from, cheat and/or receive gifts transfers of wealth from wealthy older men.” Oh, Rochelle. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

If you think there’s anyway that this could take a different path than it did in 2003 and that maybe Donald Sterling has grown kinder to women in the past 11 years, think again. On the same tape where he allegedly tells Stiviano how it “bothers [him] a lot that [she wants] to broadcast that [she’s] associating with black people,” he also tells her, “If my girl can’t do what I want, I don’t want the girl. I’ll find a girl that will do what I want! Believe me. I thought you were that girl — because I tried to do what you want. But you’re not that girl.”

Dude, if you’re going to be a horrible relic of the Mad Men era, can you at least try to be as charming as your fictional cousin Roger? I think we’d all appreciate it.
