Relatable Man Sues Over His Right to License Plate That Reads 'IM GOD'

The Associated Press reports that atheist and brave patriot Bennie Hart is suing Kentucky transportation secretary Greg Thomas after his request for a personalized license plate reading “IM GOD” was denied. I intend to stay up-to-date on the results of this lawsuit and any ensuing loosening of custom license plate restrictions, because IM GOD, too, and IM BORED with my car’s normal license plate.

From the Associated Press:

Bennie Hart says that by announcing “IM GOD” on his license plate, he simply wants to show the impossibility of disproving anyone’s claim to being “God”.
Besides, Hart says, he had the same plate for a dozen years when he lived in Ohio, without causing any problems.

According to the AP, the state of Kentucky denied Hart’s request on the grounds that it would be distracting for other drivers, and was “in bad taste.” Hart is suing on free speech grounds.
