Hillary Duff, still pregnant, has been dropped from the cast of The Story Of Bonnie and Clyde. Not coincidentally, the decision to let her go came right around the time she announced she was expecting.

Duff was to play Bonnie Parker, who was not, as far as we know, showing a baby bump when she went on her bank-robbing spree. Producers, who are also recasting Clyde due to more scheduling conflicts, say the split was amicable: “Hilary won’t be available [i.e., not pregnant] until next June. If we could wait we would.” [TMZ]

Season five of Real Housewives of New Jersey will be the last for Jacqueline Laurita and daughter Ashley Holmes, which is confusing because even though the current season is still being broadcast, Bravo is currently filming the next season in hopes of capturing the tense relationship between Teresa Guidice and her sister. Paula Deen responds to Anthony Bourdain‘s comments about her cooking, that he believes is “Dangerous to America”:

“Anthony Bourdain needs to get a life. You don’t have to like my food, or Rachael’s, Sandra’s and Guy’s. But it’s another thing to attack our character. I wake up every morning happy for where I am in life. … You know, not everybody can afford to pay $58 for prime rib or $650 for a bottle of wine. My friends and I cook for regular families who worry about feeding their kids and paying the bills … It wasn’t that long ago that I was struggling to feed my family, too.”

Donald Faison and Cacee Cobb are engaged. You’ll recall Cobb as Jessica Simpson’s former best friend/assistant, and Faison as Dionne’s boyfriend Murray in Clueless or Scrubs‘ Dr. Turk. [People]

Contact Music is reporting that Selena Gomez has dumped Justin Bieber. It might have been the death threats from his pre-teen fans, the Biebs’ swoopy hair, or a number of factors, really — but a friend of Selena’s says he was just too immature for a long-term relationship: “The big headline-grabbing romance is over. All Selena wants to be now is friends. She doesn’t feel Justin is quite mature enough yet to be in a long-term, stable relationship.” [Contact Music]

  • In a recent interview, Ryan Gosling compared working with George Clooney as a director to Michael Jackson: “It was amazing, like watching somebody try to explain a song in their head. I can only compare it to seeing Michael Jackson in This Is It, where he’s trying to explain to a keyboard player how to play a certain part-even in the sea of parts being played, he can pick that out. That’s kind of what George is like. He’s like Michael Jackson, basically. … I love Mike Jackson. [Clooney] knew exactly what he wanted, and he was very specific. A lot of directors aren’t so clear.” [New York Magazine]
