Entertainer Josephine Baker holds a rhinestone-studded microphone as she performs during her show "Paris, mes Amours" at the Olympia Music Hall in Paris, France, on May 27, 1957. Baker, aka "Tumpie," her family nickname, was born in St. Louis 100 hundred years ago on June 3, 1906 and died April 12, 1975 after much acclaim.
