Pantsless Miley Cyrus Booted From French TV Before 10 P.M.

Latest

It turns out Miley Cyrus is too scandalous even for France, a country whose greatest natural resource is eroticism. The video for “Wrecking Ball” is no longer allowed on television before 10 p.m., when more adult-oriented programming starts.

That’s according to the CSA, a French regulatory body that rules over the nation’s airwaves, the AP reports. Britney’s “Work, Bitch” has also been booted from daytime. The reasoning:

Cyrus writhing naked around a wrecking ball is too sexually explicit, it says. And Spears, with her bondage gear, shows “a sadomachistic universe representing women in a way that risks shocking many viewers.”

Saints preserve us from the inevitable wave of think pieces and self-help books about the subtle charms of our sisters across the pond, in the vein of Why French Women Don’t Get Fat. Damn you, Miley.
