Netflix’s hero series Orange Is the New Black, a show that doesn’t just revolve around white people, will continue for at least three more seasons. Can Piper please not be in one of them?
Variety describes the renewal contract involving creator Jenji Kohan and Lionsgate as “the longest commitment for any TV series in recent memory.”
OITNB won the SAG Awards’ best ensemble comedy for a second time this year, while Uzo Aduba once again took home best actress in a comedy. Season four will be available for binging on June 17. In an excited statement, Kohan said:
“Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, ‘May you lead an interesting life,’ is a curse, but I don’t live in those cultures...Here’s to keeping it interesting. Thanks Netflix!”
