One woman was killed and eight others—including three children—were wounded at a gender reveal party in Ohio on Saturday night, and police have yet to arrest any suspects.
According to WLWT-5, the shooter or shooters fled immediately after the massacre around 11:30 p.m. at a home in Colerain Township, leaving behind a scene of total devastation. One adult woman was pronounced dead, and among the eight injured was a pregnant woman who lost her baby after she was shot in the leg. Three children are being treated at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. Of the other five victims, one is in critical condition.
Local police have not identified a motive for the shooting. “As of right now, I do not know what instigated this,” Colerain’s public information officer told WLWT. “I do not know how this got started.”
A woman who called 911 was sitting in her car outside her house when she saw two men enter the home where the shooting unfolded.
“Two guys just came in and shot people in the house,” she reportedly told the dispatcher. “There was little kids hurt and everything. I was sitting in my car. They just ran in and started shooting. There’s a pregnant girl here.”
Ohio is an open-carry state that allows residents to openly possess firearms with or without a license.
